Saturday may fourtheenth

today was a wonderful day.

started out with a trip to Niles (fremont/Newark) area. for the "spring fever" car show. they had a bunch of hot rods and old school muscle, along with a few lowriders and a hand full of other stuff. Me and mimi walked the streets and peeped at the cars, enjoyed the live band playing/singing beach boys.

after the car show we took off and headed to san jose to Bill's dad's house in hope to find either bill or his dad... but no one was there... oh well, one day ill find him. on the way to the house he got ahold of a TI-83 Plus calculator for $25 in San Rafael. A bit of a drive but the price seemed cheap enough to make it worth while.

We left bills house and went back to mimi's to drop off my wagon and pick up mimi's jetta. we Headed out to pick up the calculator. it was a bit of a drive, maybe a tad over an hour to get there. it was about 15 minutes past the golden gate bridge, which was fun to drive over since its been a while since I've been there. Also saw a nice new ferrari smashin and weaving down the bridge. I always get a kick out of nice expensive cars going fast and doing cool stuff. anyhoo we got to our destination and traded some paper for a calculator which was a bit less nice than we had expected, but it works and we also ordered new parts for it, so itll do just fine.

As we headed back over the golden gate bridge I had passed the 19th ave exit because of some road construction and me not paying attention to signs until it was too late. so we took the other rout through the city down Lombard street. Took a while to get there and a slow (mimi scaring) climb up Lombard to get to the fun little twisty street that everyone loves for some reason.

after Lombard we headed through downtown a little and made our way to union square. drove around in a circle around union square and then took off heading towards Japantown, where our next stop would be.

In japantown we walked the mall, shopped a bit and hung out. It was nice because Its been a while since I had last been there too. Nothing really new, but always a fun place to just kinda kick it and waste time. as we left japantown, we went to pay for our parking ticket, and some retarted ass chinese lady tried to cut infront of us, with some excuse that neither me, mimi, nor the lady behind us cared about. We told her off and the lady behind did the same, and we were on our marry way back to Sunnyvale.

came home and chit chatted with mom for a bit, then took a nice short nap before it was time to eat some dinner. As i slept mimi thought of a place to eat, which ended up being cheesecake factory :) good choice! although her first dish she had order (weight loss grilled chicken) came out over cooked and dried out, with raw green beans that hadnt had the stems removed... The waiter was nice and took care of the dish and replaced it with a much better Grilled mahi mahi plate with veggies. i had the crusted chicken romano, which mediocre, but not bad. a free coffee and slice of cheese cake was comped. to us for the trouble with the first chicken plate, and the situation was handled very well.

Now we are back home and doing homework... well mimi is, and I am blogging... but shortly I will be joining her. I had a wonderful day. and I enjoyed it very much. Now in the coming week or more We will be swamped with studying for finals :( wish us luck!

WWWWWWWWWWwwwwweber!!!!!!!

picked up a carb the other day from a super cool older dude, who is into hot rods and all that good ol American Muscle. any hoo popped it onto the Sedan yesterday morning before work and fired it up. seemed to run pretty cool. it revs much nicer with not much hessitation :) Although there is a vacum leak somewhere making a funny whistle sound, but that'll be next weeks task i guess.

One day that car will be on the road.

plans for this coming weekend are:
-sanding
-masking
-cleaning up some stuff
-maybe a little bondo
-maybe some paint
-start checking the electrical for the head lights and all that junk
